The Deutsche Elektronen-Synchrotron DESY in Hamburg and Zeuthen, member of the Hermann von Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft Deutscher Forschungszentren, is a national centre of basic research with 1,400 employees and more than 3,000 scientific guests from Germany and foreign countries per year. The accelerators in operation are dedicated to particle physics and research with synchrotron radiation.

Postdoctoral Positions
in Elementary Particle Theory
The activities of the theory group include: phenomenology and field
theory of high energy processes in Quantum Chromodynamics and
electroweak interactions, lattice gauge theory and structural aspects
of Quantum Field Theory. For details see the

Interested persons, who have completed their Ph.D. and who should be younger
than 33 years are invited to apply. More information on the positions

The
positions are limited to two years, starting by Fall 2003.
The salary and the social benefits correspond to those in German public services (BAT-O IIa).
Deadline for applications is Dec. 20 2002, later applications
may be considered until the positions are filled.
